How to use it
- Work top to bottom. Start by opening windows and checking for left items, so anything the guest forgot is found before you clean around it.
- Strip beds early. Get the first linen wash going while you clean the kitchen and bathroom.
- Photograph what the client looks at. Made beds, the shower, kitchen benches and the lockbox. The "photo" tasks above are the minimum.
- Count linen against guests, not beds. A sofa bed or a cot changes the numbers. The generator handles this for you.
- Finish with the lock-up check. Air-con off, windows locked, keys back. Most complaints about a "bad clean" start here.
Why one checklist does not fit every property
A generic Airbnb checklist either misses the things a property has (the pool, the BBQ, the coffee machine) or lists things it does not have, which teaches cleaners to skim. How long should an Airbnb turnover clean take?
It depends on size, linen and how the guests left it. Time your own team on a few cleans of each property type and set your price and schedule from that, rather than from a rule of thumb.
What gets missed most often on an Airbnb clean?
The things that are not in every property: the coffee machine, the dishwasher filter, the pool gate, the cot, the sofa bed. A checklist built from each listing puts those in only where they exist.
Should cleaners take photos?
